CHM 2200:- A 4 credit hour, one-semester c ourse for non-chemistry majors who have studied general college chemistry. This course is intended to further enhance the understanding of Organic Chemistry. The course covers fundamentals of modern organic chemistry and provides a wide base for applica tion of this knowledge in the projected careers of its students. Structure, nomenclature, properties, preparation, reactions of hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohol, phenols, ethers, sulfur analogs and other compounds.
Syllabus
CHM 2210:- A 3 credit hour, part one of a two semester Organic Chemistry. The course is intended for students that require in depth knowledge of the concept of logic of Organic Chemistry.  Introduction of the concept of Organic Chemistry is done via understanding  of structure and reaction mechanisms. A laboratory course independent of his course is also offered.
Syllabus
CHM 6932/4938:-The course takes the studen t through a number of modern spectroscopic techniques for identification and quantification of mainly organic compounds. The disciplines of NMR-spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, IR-spectroscopy and UV-spectroscopy are covered in detail. A few others are just touched upon. The emphasis is on practical applicability. The course teaches the student what specific information can be obtained by each technique. On successful completion of this course, the student is able to select the most suitable spectroscopic method for solving an analytical problem.
